I love books. There is something amazing about holding a new book in your hand that I still get excited about as an adult. Like all teachers, I’m always on the lookout for ways to get books into my classroom. Elementary teachers have book fairs, book clubs and restaurant-sponsored contests and high school teachers have…not many ways to get free books. And free books in Spanish? Forget about it.
So I was very excited to see that Kellogg’s was again sponsoring the Feeding Reading program this summer. It works like this: 1. Buy specially marked Kellogg’s products 2. upload the receipt 3. wait a few hours for your receipt to be approved 4. choose one free book per item purchased 5. get your books in the mail. You don’t even pay postage. It’s completely free. And–wait for it–they have Spanish options!!!! For all levels!!!!! Over the years I’ve gotten almost two dozen new books, including Esperanza Renace, Hombre Mosca (a hit with Spanish 3 students), and some new chapter book titles.
The products are items and brands you probably already know and buy like Eggo Waffles, Rice Krispies, Frosted Flakes, Raisin Bran, Club Crackers and more! You can have multiple items on the same receipt. There is a limit of 10 books per person, but if you get your friends and family involved you can get even more.
You may see this promotion start as early as June and go through November, depending on the store and the distribution.
As of 2023 the Kellogg’s Family Rewards program has been discontinued, so hopefully the Feeding Reading program will continue. Heads up that since the Feeding Reading website is created new each year, you can’t access it in the winter or spring. In the meantime, check out the details on the Kellogg’s website or google “Kellogg’s Feeding Reading” and look for it this summer to get free Spanish books from Kellogg’s!
